Hi Fitzy...
When I first came to Canada, it was my intention to visit the fort, but time got in my way and I never did get there.
Perhaps another time. If like me, you like poetry, take a read of the poem by R.L.Stevenson called Ticonderoga.
It is said he had the inspiration for the poem whilst researching the regimental archives of the 42nd.
It is written that a young officer of the 42nd foresaw his death on the eve of the assault on fort Ticonderoga.
He was the first to fall.
