    When I was visiting in the North of England, there was a border house that had one (really old) in a glass case above the mantle, with the caption "In case of British, break glass"

    I bought one just like it about two years ago, and I keep it on the wall in my study--except for the occassionaly foray into the Halloween crowd.

    It's a nice bit of Scottishness to own, and I love just looking at it beside the basket hilt. It's kind of a guy thing, I guess.

    Love it. Must note that the rest of the garb, kilt above knee, sock 3 fingers below, buckled & strapped shoes, everything spot on! Most impressive ensemble. Very well done.

    Rob Roy Claymore

    Just to be a little pedantic, the clamores used in Rob Roy were basket hilted claymores, considerably smaller, one handed swords, very similar to the Italian sciavona.
