Sadly true. the real reason I didn't get the part was that the McCleod of Lewis tartan wouldn't make it past the BBC censors back in the day

Jamie - I don't know when you were born but at best back in the '60s you could only have been a wee bairn!

Though you are right about the tartan in that McCrimmons were the pipers for the Chiefs of McLeod of Lewis.

    Jamie, you crack me up!

I trust you all know that Jamie McCrimmon was the inspiration for the Jamie Fraser character in the Outlander series... I always new Ms. Gabaldon was smart!

Speaking of the Doctor, I was suprised that so much fuss is make about Karen Gillan's alleged Scottish accent (she of course plays the current lovely companion). It's true that regional accents are fading everywhere, but hers is so faint to my Canuckish ears as to be barely even British, never mind Scottish. But at least she seems to have inspired a kilted Scottish episode (or, over here, perhaps two?). The trailers are on now and they start airing this week.

What channel are you getting it on? It used be be on CBC, but I see it's been on Space (which we don't get) for almost a month now, but still no sign of it on the CBC. I'm perplexed.

I'm seeing it on Space, sorry. The CBC betrayed me too, in the long-ago when I was a little boy and they failed to air The Doctor out of CBC Montreal. A ridiculous reluctance to terrify children. I didn't even know what a Dalek was until I was in my 20s! I feel the cultural lack to this day; for instance, I never had the famous "behind the couch' childhood experiences, and when people discuss the first three or four doctors I only have an adult's perspective, which is no fun.

This is the same Montreal station that aired The Goodies, which apparently and for reasons I don't care to state few other CBC outlets would even touch. Stupid public broadcasting!

But that doesn't matter Trefor, when he could just go back in time!

BTW, I've seen pics online of Tom Baker in a great kilt. Does anyone know where they come from (i.e. are they from Dr. Who or something else that he was in?).

I know that the doctor before the current one (name? My mind's a blank) has been pictured in a kilt, but he is a Scot with a phoney London accent.

Ah so Sinbad is really from the Arabian Nights by that logic...

Tom Baker was in MOTG so I don't know if he night have worn it in there.

David Tennant is the name that escaped you and his accent wasn't bad
