    I've seen the shirt pocket done, it seems like it works well. I always keep mine in the sporran when kilted with the chain clipped to the front where it's covered by the flap. I'm not sure if I'd do that with a mechanical watch, though, I'd be afraid all the banging about would break the balance.

    Also, the jacket breast pocket as I mentioned before, if you're wearing a jacket with a lapel buttonhole. This is the strap I have which is made for that, but I've seen it done with chains as well.
