New kilt ordered in Nova Scotia
Hi all,
This new kilt has been ordered at McIsaac (http://www.mackilts.com/).
It will be a heavyweight 8 yards Stewart of Happin ancient and I will get it
in march. I'm not too hurry because I already own 5 kilts.
I choosed that tartan because the last part of the name is almost the same as my family name.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Congratulations, look forward to seeing the photos after it arrives. I'm not familiar with McIsaac. Why did you decide to use them instead of another kiltmaker? Their website looks good, but it is always nice to hear from someone who has actually done business with them.

I haven't heard of them before either but Cape Breton Island is as Scottish as you can get I believe!

I was also curious about their pricing and couldn't find much information on their site (unless I missed something)

I too have had my eye on that company for a while, they seem like good people, and their service seems to be pleasant, i can't wait to see how your turns out.

Five months seems like a long lead time for even a hand sewn kilt with a line of folks in front of you. Do you know who actually will sew it up?

The kilt ordered costs $750 CDN+TX
I compared with Cairngorn and their price is $850 CDN.
I can afford waiting until march because I have 3 good quality kilts and 2 casual ones.
