Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia
A few years ago, my wife and I visited Nova Scotia. Among the many places we visited was Peggy's Cove, a charming little village, with a restaurant/bar/gift shop on a rock outcropping by the sea.
After paying for our meal, the waitress told us to "be careful outside, because sometimes a wave will swoop in and carry a tourist away."
I thought she was kidding. But then it just happened again a few days ago.
Enjoy Nova Scotia, but watch out in Peggy's Cove!

They have warning signs posted all over the place, and it is very safe, so long as you don't go where you shouldn't. Many people do however, and others have to risk their lives to save someone who just wanted a better picture. They are milling about the idea of a law change to discourge "thrill seekers" which would include arrest and fines. This may work, but I have my doubts. I suggest they just stop saving those who seem to show so little regard for their own lives or those who risk theirs to save them.

Kiltman, where in NS are you going? My family's house is out past Lunenburg, across the bay in Feltzen South.

A plaque mounted on a rock on the main path to the Peggy's Cove Lighthouse:
Injury and death have rewarded careless sight-seers here. The ocean and rocks are treacherous. Savour the sea from a distance.

We're going to do the Highland hikes there. See museums etc. Mrs. Kiltman is in charge of the itinerary. Passed that we don't know yet. We don't like to be tied down to a set schedule when we travel.
