I was upbraided on the weekend for not wearing my kilt, by a kilted gentleman I had never met, but I certainly didn't make that mistake today.
The very first two men I saw today both said "nice kilt!" Usually it's the women.) Another said "Isn't today a big Scottish holiday?" but looked confused when I said "It's Tartan Day, here." The guys working in the coffee shop, though, immediately wrote it down in the calendar, so that they'd remember it next year, noting that I should have given them advance notice so that they could have dressed and decorated appropriately.

Happy Tartan Day here in the USA to all. Wear it proudly. I am wearing a tartan necktie but will kilt up as soon as I clear the office door.
