1st daylong kilting for me
So up to this point all my kilt wear has been at ceremonies/parades where I would change in the parking garage, parking lot or where I could. I'm one who is always concerned w/wrinkling my jeans so I knew just thinking about my pleats would drive me crazy But I finally bit the bullet and had at it! We spent this past Saturday in Buckingham County in Virginia at their 250th anniversary celebration and I must admit I was the only one kilted. I enjoyed every minute of it. I wasn't as concerned w/the wrinkling of the pleats as I was the 20-30 mph wind gusts that we experienced. I will admit that the importance of checking the weather report before going out should be done. I decided on wearing my Wallace red Sportkilt due to this being a casual event. I sported my Father's knot sporran from our very own Donnie @ Wyvern leatherworks & an antlered handled sgian dubh by our very own Taygrd @ Taylor knives. I have to admit, the kilt is quite popular w/the ladies even when you're w/yours I look forward to many more daylong kiltings for me. This pic is at the Robert E. Lee Wayside near Buckingham County ![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Very nice. I'm glad you posted the pic. I'm looking forward to my first "non-event" outing tomorrow (even if it is in honor of National Tartan Day). It's a "non-event" 'cuz I'll be the only one kilted .

I remember my first kilted day. Great memory, just like yours. Enjoy it. But be careful if you kilt today. I'm just 1 hour up the road from you today, and this cold 30mph gusty wind is not kilt friendly.
