I actually have two pairs of grey socks. I love the way they look with my Albannach, saffron, Nightstalker and black Amerikilt. Those fit the X Marks tartan really well! I love the way it looks. There are some colors that just really bring out the tartan, and those do wonders.

Be aware that the kilts they sell are the infamous Gold Brothers items. Some people will shudder at the prospect of owning one, at all. Personally, I have a 5-yard Gold Brothers kilt in the Scottish National Tartan that I bought from MacKinnons several years ago, that I throw in a lot. It's a reasonable kilt and I like it fine but I don't care if I trash it. IN fact I'm wearing it at work as I write this, since our weekly workout is Thursdays 5:00 - 7:30 PM.
MacKinnons sells 8 yard versions for $90 in the booth at the Games, the same kilt markets for $150 online.. They're not custom-made wool kilts. You MUST understand that. Also, the girls at the booth will tell you that they're polyester-viscose, and I know this much...they're sure not the Marton Mills polyester-viscose material! The kilts are quite stiff, almost scratchy at first but they soften up considerably with a washing or two.
I like mine just fine and I might spring for an 8 yard Scottish National someday, since I really like the tartan, and I grok what I'm getting for my money. The people running the booth and the company seem on the up-and-up to me, I like them. Just *understand* what you are getting.
The hose I bought from them were Woolrich, BTW.

Ya. I saw you there. You looked good in that combination. Have you looked at Social Groups in Washington State. The largest number of WACKO's are in the central Puget Sound. Check out the WACKO social group on X-Mark

I'm actually from California, but if you saw me, why didn't you come up and say "hi"?

Just think of gray as dark-white and all will be well.
