According to the caption to the video:
"Fly-bys from current military aircraft dating back to World War II P-51's and B-17 Bombers were part of the tribute". But, the "big" plane in the video was not a B-17, maybe a C-47/DC-3(?).

Yes, but neither of the chase planes in the video were P-51's.

One looked like an AT6 "Texan", the other (with wing 'tanks'?) did look like a P-47, but I can't tell for sure.

The larger plane was indeed a C-47 (in D-Day invasion markings).

About the pipe band, they had a pretty decent "tone" (as pipe band people call it), better than most firefighter bands I've heard, especially their drones.

About their uniform, it's the first time I've seen a firefighter band wearing red doublets. Usually they go with extremely dark blue, which not only matches their department uniforms but also is the same colour worn by the pipers of the Scots Guards, Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, etc.

They need to get long horsehair sporrans, I think.

I notice that they're doing the common modern Pipe Band thing of wearing their kilts rather low. Pipe Bands at the highest level tend to wear their kit properly, but as you go down the Pipe Band foodchain the kilts tend to go downwards as well. Don't know why.

About NASCAR itself, de gustibus non est disputandum.

The three were, a C 47, an A1 Skyraider and a T 28 Trojan, all used in the Viet Nam era. The C 47 was the original "Puff The Magic Dragon".

Though I doubt in D-Day invasion markings

Thanks for the indentification on the others. I was suspicious of the "P-47", thought it looked a lot like an A1 (we have one here locally), but then thought naaaw.
