I haven't used this particular disc, but I have for other languages sold by this company, and found them lacking. You can get the same thing cheaper at Target or Walmart. It's a simplistic system that uses the same format for all languages (E.g., you can learn how to say "Where is the beach?" in Tibetan. Of course, Tibet, being landlocked, has none.) It's colorful and user friendly, and if all you want is a very basic vocabulary and a few simple phrases, it would be sufficient.

Thanks. I just want to get my feet wet, so to speak, and I am in a position to have plenty of time in front of a comp with this kind of disk going .

You could make the point that asking 'where is the beach?" is almost as pointless in Scotland as it is in Tibet- but of course you might be wanting to catch the ferry....

Scotland is far from landlocked, if you define beach as where the water meets the land they have BUNCHES LOL

There are many beaches in Scotland.
In fact, this past summer, I spent time on a few beaches and wading through the water, while visiting Scotland. St. Andrew's was great!

Just to be sure my little joke was understood: sure Scotland has plenty of beaches in the technical sense of the word, but they are not as much fun to visit as in some other countries.
